1. Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you use Supperz and which features you choose to use.

Account information

If you create or use a Supperz account, we may collect or process information such as:

• your email address;
• your account identifier;
• your name or profile information, if provided by you or an authentication provider;
• information provided by third-party sign-in services;
• authentication tokens and session information; and
• technical and security information associated with account access.

You may be able to sign in using an email address, password, or supported third-party authentication provider. When a third-party authentication provider is used, that provider may separately process information according to its own privacy policy.

Supperz does not independently store your account password when authentication is handled by an external authentication service.

Meal planning and personal library information

Supperz may store information you create or select while using the app, including:

• meal plans and meal-plan history;
• grocery lists and grocery completion information;
• favourite recipes;
• recipe ratings and feedback;
• recipe notes;
• serving and measurement preferences;
• dietary preferences and restrictions;
• ingredient preferences and dislikes;
• saved filters;
• custom recipes;
• personal recipe photos; and
• other information you choose to save in your personal library.

Some or all of this information may initially be stored locally on your device. If you use cloud synchronization or another online storage feature, supported portions of your personal library may also be transmitted to and stored using our cloud services.

Photos and files

Supperz may allow you to select photos or files from your device for features such as custom recipes, backups, imports, or other user-created content. We only receive content you choose to provide through these features.

Access to device features such as photos, files, camera, microphone, notifications, health information, or other system capabilities will be requested only when needed for a feature that uses them and subject to the permissions provided by your device.

Feedback and communications

If you submit feedback, contact support, respond to a survey, report a problem, or otherwise communicate with us, we may receive the information you provide, recipe or feature information associated with the feedback, ratings or comments, your account identifier where applicable, your device platform or app version, and the date and time of the communication.

Technical and usage information

When you use Supperz, our website, or related online services, we and our service providers may automatically process technical and usage information such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, app version, language or regional settings, pages, screens, or features viewed or used, interactions with the service, timestamps, referring pages or links, diagnostic information, crash or performance information, network and server logs, and identifiers used for security, analytics, or service operation.

We may use cookies, local storage, software development kits, pixels, analytics tools, or similar technologies to collect or process this information. Where applicable law requires consent for non-essential analytics, cookies, or similar technologies, we will request that consent before using them.

2. How we use information

We may use information to provide and operate Supperz; create and manage accounts; authenticate users; synchronize information between devices; provide meal planning, grocery, recipe, preference, and customization features; store and display content you create; maintain backups or restore information where supported; provide customer support; process feedback and improve recipes or features; understand how people use Supperz; measure website and app performance; diagnose technical problems; monitor crashes, errors, and reliability; develop and improve our products and services; maintain security and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access; communicate with users about their accounts or the service; comply with legal requirements; and protect our rights, users, and services.

We do not sell personal information in exchange for money.

3. Analytics, cookies, and similar technologies

Supperz and its service providers may use analytics and similar technologies to understand how our website, apps, and features are used.

These technologies may collect information such as pages or screens viewed, interactions with features, approximate geographic information derived from an IP address, device and browser information, referring websites, session information, performance information, and aggregated usage statistics.

We may use third-party analytics, measurement, hosting, security, or performance services. We may also use cookies or similar technologies for purposes such as maintaining sessions, remembering preferences, security, fraud prevention, measuring website performance, understanding usage, and improving our services.

If we use technologies that require consent under applicable law, we will provide any required choices or controls.

4. Cloud synchronization and storage

Supperz may provide cloud synchronization or other online storage features. When these features are used, information from your personal library may be transmitted to and stored on servers operated by us or our service providers.

This may include information such as meal plans, grocery lists, favourites, ratings, notes, preferences, custom recipes, photos, settings, and related account information.

Supperz may also retain temporary copies, previous versions, backups, or synchronization metadata as reasonably necessary to operate, recover, secure, or troubleshoot the service.

Cloud synchronization may be optional or configurable depending on the platform and version of Supperz. Features stored locally on your device may continue to work without cloud synchronization where supported.

5. Third-party services

We use third-party companies and platforms to help provide Supperz. These providers may include services for authentication and account management, cloud hosting and storage, content delivery, email delivery, analytics, crash reporting, performance monitoring, security and fraud prevention, app distribution, customer support, payments or subscriptions, and other infrastructure required to operate Supperz.

These providers may process information on our behalf or, in some circumstances, as independent service providers subject to their own privacy policies.

Examples may include companies such as Google, Firebase, Apple, cloud infrastructure providers, analytics providers, and app-store operators. The specific providers we use may change over time as the service evolves.

We require service providers handling personal information on our behalf to use it only for appropriate service-related purposes and subject to applicable contractual and legal protections.

6. International processing

Supperz and its service providers may process or store information in Canada, the United States, or other countries. As a result, your information may be subject to the laws of jurisdictions outside the place where you live.

Government authorities, courts, law-enforcement agencies, or national-security authorities in those jurisdictions may have lawful access to information under applicable law.

Where required, we use appropriate measures to protect personal information transferred internationally.

7. Advertising and sale of personal information

Supperz does not sell personal information in exchange for money.

If we use advertising or marketing technologies in the future, we will use them in accordance with applicable privacy laws and platform requirements.

Where applicable law gives you the right to opt out of particular forms of targeted advertising, cross-context behavioural advertising, sharing, or similar processing, we will provide an appropriate method to exercise that right.

8. Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. Depending on the service and platform, these safeguards may include encrypted network connections, authentication controls, restricted-access cloud storage, secure device storage, access controls, data validation, integrity checks, logging and monitoring, security updates, and protections provided by our infrastructure providers.

No electronic system or method of storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as otherwise required or permitted by law.

Retention periods may depend on whether you maintain an account, whether cloud synchronization is enabled, the type of information, operational or backup requirements, security and fraud-prevention requirements, legal obligations, and whether you request deletion.

Information stored locally on your device generally remains there until you delete it, replace it, clear the app's data, or remove the app in a way that deletes its stored information.

Backups or files that you export are controlled by you and remain wherever you choose to store or share them. Cloud systems may retain temporary backups, previous versions, security records, or logs for a limited period after information is deleted from the active service.

10. Account and data deletion

Where Supperz provides user accounts, you may delete your account using the deletion controls provided within the app or through any other deletion method we make available.

Account deletion is intended to remove personal information associated with your active Supperz account from our systems, subject to limited information that may need to remain temporarily for backups, fraud or abuse prevention, security, synchronization safety, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or other legitimate operational requirements.

Deleting your account may not automatically delete information stored only on your devices or files and backups that you previously exported. You are responsible for deleting those local or exported copies if you no longer want them.

You may also contact [email protected] if you have trouble deleting an account or want to make a data-deletion request.

11. Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to your personal information, which may include the right to request access to personal information, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion, receive a copy of certain information, withdraw consent, object to or restrict certain processing, opt out of certain advertising or sharing practices, and complain to an applicable privacy or data-protection authority.

You may also have controls within Supperz or your device to sign out, disable synchronization, manage device permissions, manage cookie or analytics choices where applicable, choose whether to submit feedback, choose whether to upload photos or files, export your information where supported, and delete your account.

12. Legal bases for processing

Where applicable privacy law requires us to identify a legal basis for processing personal information, we may rely on providing the services you request, performing our agreement with you, your consent, our legitimate interests in operating, securing, maintaining, analyzing, and improving Supperz, compliance with legal obligations, or another basis permitted by applicable law.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent subject to applicable law.

13. Children

Supperz is intended for a general audience and is not specifically directed to children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in circumstances where parental or guardian consent is legally required.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to Supperz contrary to applicable law, contact [email protected] and we will investigate.

14. External websites and services

Supperz may contain links to third-party websites, services, app stores, authentication providers, or other external services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and this Privacy Policy does not control how those third parties process information independently of Supperz.

15. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Supperz develops, our service providers change, or legal requirements evolve.

We do not need to revise this policy solely because we change a particular vendor or technical implementation where the categories of information, purposes, and privacy practices described here remain materially the same.

If we make a material change to how we collect, use, or share personal information, we will update this policy and provide any additional notice or consent required by applicable law.
